
Jeffrey B. Kindler, Board Member
Jeffrey B. Kindler joins the Intrexon Board following his immediate past tenure as Chairman and CEO of Pfizer, Inc. At Pfizer since 2002, he also served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel, then Vice Chairman. Preceding his leadership of Pfizer, Mr. Kindler was the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of McDonald’s Corporation from 1996, where he was responsible for legal and corporate affairs. His management experience at McDonald’s also extended to the Partner Brands, serving as President of this entity. Mr. Kindler received a B.A. from Tufts University in 1977, followed by a J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard University in 1980. After completing his degree, Mr. Kindler worked as an attorney for the Federal Communications Commission and later as a law clerk for Judge David L. Bazelon of the U.S. Court of Appeals of the D.C. Circuit and then U.S. Supreme Court Justice William J. Brennan, Jr. Following this role, Mr. Kindler joined the Washington D.C. firm of Williams & Connolly and subsequently became partner. In 1990, he became the Vice President of Litigation and Legal Policy at General Electric Company. He is currently a director at the private equity firm Starboard Capital Partners and serves as a member the board of Tufts University, the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University, the Manhattan Theatre Club, and President Obama’s Management Advisory Board. Additionally, Mr. Kindler was a previous member of the boards of several business and philanthropic societies.
